Professor Laura Parry is the Head of School, Biological Sciences (Uni Adelaide). She was previously Associate Dean Research & Industry (Faculty of Science) and Head of Vascular Physiology & Reproduction in the School of BioSciences (UoM). Laura is internationally renowned for her research on the therapeutic actions of the peptide hormone relaxin in women’s health and cardiovascular disease. She localized relaxin receptors in arteries and identified novel mechanisms of relaxin action involving vascular prostanoids. Her current research focuses on potential treatments for vascular dysfunction during pregnancy (preeclampsia) and postpartum, with funding from the NH&MRC, Ferring Pharmaceuticals and Seleno Therapeutics.
