BRIAN SETCHELL VISITING LECTURER AWARD

The aim of annual Brian Setchell Visiting Lecturer Award has recently been revisited to provide greater flexibility for the funds in order to better aid the Society to promote the career(s) of our many loyal mid-career researchers (between 8 and 20 years post-PhD) in the field of reproductive biology.

The award, will now be a grant-in-aid fund, with a value of AUD $2,500, that will be open TWICE a year for applications. The award will enable the recipient to attend and present at an Australasian or international conference (to an academic or public audience or preferably both). In addition to conference attendance, the recipient may utilise the funds to visit institutions and research colleagues to establish or affirm collaborative research opportunities.

It is hoped that the revised Brian setchell Visiting Lecturer Award will assist members in demonstrating their standing in the field of reproductive biology, whilst promoting the benefits of SRB membership.

The attached document contains the revised guidelines regarding the application criteria and process. Applications will be considered twice a year. For round one (travel occurring from 1st January to 30th June applications must be lodged by November 30th of the previous year, and for round two (travel occurring from the 1st July to 31st December), applications must be lodged by May 31st of the current year, or the last working day preceding these dates.
