Chis Maxwell

Emeritus Professor of Reproductive Biology, Faculty of Veterinary Science, The University of Sydney NSW 2006 AUSTRALIA

Retired as Pro Dean of the Faculty in 2008. More than 30 years experience in academic, private and government research and extension. Member of the International Standing Committee of ICAR; former Chairman of the Editorial Board for Reproduction, Fertility and Development; editorial advisory committees for: Reproduction in Domestic Animals and Journal of Andrology; executive committee for the International Congress on Boar Semen Preservation. Recipient of the 2007 Urrbrae Award for outstanding contributions to the science and practice of Australian agriculture. Over 350 articles in international research journals including 200 original research papers, 30 major reviews, and 4 books. Research interests included semen preservation, artificial insemination (AI), embryo transfer and manipulation, and sex pre-selection by separation of X and Y chromosome-bearing spermatozoa in sheep, goats, horses and pigs; and the role of seminal plasma in AI of Camelids and ruminants.
